Big Brothers, Work In Progress

Showing some of the stuff I'm preparing. I'll probably put any progress, ideas and related stuff into this posting.

Well. The Big Brothers, with their huge family tree scattered all over the world - here's a Duesseldorf branch:

Some of them..

..look like business man..

Some of them..
..protect the common people..

Some of them..
..lurk behind bushes..

Some of them..
%-www-floze-org over nations..

Some of them..
..are not as smart as they seem..

Some of them..
..use heavy ammo..

Some of them..
..are artsy, too..

Some of them..
..have foreign parents..

Some of them..
..hide behind cherry blossoms, because they love them..

Some of them..
..are grim..

Some of them..
..dont hesitate to deal with criminals severly..

Some of them..
..have friends..

Some of them..
..are young and motivated..

Some of them..
§-www-floze-org to play that cowboy game..

Some of them..
..are too silly to hide themselves properly..

Some of them..
..are sneaky..

So altogether they dont seem to be quite different from ourselves!

Beyond the Lights

I was wondering where this quote came from:
"When your spirit is floating down that tunnel toward the lights, you know what's beyond the lights? Its not god, its me. And I'm gonna kick your poncy soul all the way back down the tunnel, 'til you choke on your own fucked up ribs. Now. Wake - the fuck - up."

..its spoken by Alan Ford (aka Brick Top in the movie 'Snatch') in one of the Armando Iannucci Shows, UK. Rusko used it as a sample in 'Cockney Thug':

Copyrights at stake in the US!

Its no myth, its no hoax, its real. Received this forwarded message today by Darren from Off The Rack, NY.. have a read if you're living in the US, but apparently there's something similar on the way in Europe anyway:

Today the House and Senate sent us draft copies of the new Orphan Works Act of 2008. They haven’t officially released it yet, but we’ve been told the Senate will do so this week. A quick analysis confirms our worst fears and our early warnings. If these proposals are enacted into law, all the work you have ever done or will do could be orphaned and exposed to commercial infringement from the moment you create it.

You’ve probably already heard Mark Simon’s webcast interview with Brad Holland. If not, please listen to it at:

Then forget the spin you’ve heard from backers of this bill. This radical proposal, now pending before Congress, could cost you your past and future copyrights.

The Illustrators’ Partnership is currently working with our attorney - in concert with the other 12 groups in the American Society of Illustrators Partnership to have our voices – and yours - heard in Congress. We’ll keep you posted regarding how you can do your part.

Please forward this information to every creative person and group you know. Mr. Holland and Mr. Simon have given their permission for this audio file to be copied and transferred and replayed.

For additional information about Orphan Works developments, go to the IPA Orphan Works Resource Page for Artists

If you received our mail as a forwarded message, and wish to be added to our mailing list, email us at: illustratorspartnership [ at ]
Place "Add Name" in the subject line, and provide your name and the email address you want used in the message area.

If you feel like you cant change it anyway, thats not true: Pass the message and links above along to everyone who could be affected by a fucked up copyright law.

The New Old Doublethink

Stumbled over this:

'Vintage is living today.' ...oh well.

Vintage is dead before it got resurrected once again. And its just another indication of how uninspired the world of ads and marketing is, and ever has been, except for a few genuine ideas that keep sparkling in the numb void however (vacuum, as we all know, isnt nothingness, but its just the potential that some thing is just about to appear).

I know its useless to argue, because this kind of 'design' and 'art' is an end in itself and thus it is proof to external criticism. But who are those guys who claim to be the mirror of society, with their eyes and ears being closed, who keep watching inside their own heads, without reflecting a single quantum; never pause to perceive the actual subject matter, abased to the one-way dead-end objectivism which is ever bound to miss the essence, and which has to keep filling it's devoid of meaning with hollow words. Words that then may be devotionally listened and applauded to by every fuck who happened to come along. And if its lacking words it is always welcome to be stuffed up with any tangible crap.

Poor designers who have to repeat themselves over and over again, over the years and centuries, you do have my deepest sympathies.

"And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed--if all records told the same tale--then the lie passed into history and became truth. 'Who controls the past,' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.' And yet the past, though of its nature alterable, never had been altered. Whatever was true now was true from everlasting to everlasting. It was quite simple. All that was needed was an unending series of victories over your own memory. 'Reality control', they called it: in Newspeak, 'doublethink'."
